Why should I replace a missing tooth?

The empty space left by the missing tooth
compromises your ability to chew, alters your
smile, and causes serious problems for your
surrounding teeth.
Why do I need a Crown
(Cap)?
-
Crowns cover all or part of a tooth and hold teeth
together. They are the treatment of choice
whenever decay, a crack, a fracture, or a
previously placed large filling has compromised
the strength of a tooth.
What can I do to improve my smile?

Besides Braces, there are three additional methods
available: Bleaching, Bonding, and Veneering.

Floss shreds when the contact between the teeth is
either too tight or rough and jagged.
How can I avoid getting
cavities?
-
Eat right, brush regularly with an ADA-approved
fluoridated toothpaste, floss daily, and visit
your dentist at least twice a year for cleanings
and checkups. Children often benefit by having
Sealants placed.
At what age should I
start taking my child to the dentist?
-
Some say at one year of age, but definitely by the
child’s third birthday.
When do baby and
permanent teeth erupt?
-
Each person is different. Check our linked site
for normal time frames or ask your dentist.
What should I do if my
tooth is knocked out?
-
Place the tooth in saliva or cool milk. If there
is no danger of swallowing, the tooth can be kept
in your mouth between your cheek and gum. Get to a
dentist within 20 minutes. The sooner the tooth is reimplanted the better its prognosis.
